Acupuncture

Rooted in 1,000 years of experience, Traditional Oriental Medicine is a comprehensive system of medicine that treats the underlying cause of disease. Chinese Medicine can have beneficial effects in the treatment of virtually any disorder. It utilizes several modalities including acupuncture. herbs, nutrition, massage, moxibustion, and Cupping. In addition, on some people I may also recommend Bemer Therapy and Biofield Tuning, which you can read about on this site.

These tools work with balancing of the subtle fields surrounding the body, increasing microcirculation and clearing out old patterns. Each patient receives a highly individualized treatment based on specific patterns of disharmony that are revealed by the health history and pulse, tongue and abdominal diagnosis. Oriental Medicine can even detect and treat illness before it manifests into symptoms. Oriental Medicine is accepted around the world as a safe, effective holistic medical system.

How does Acupuncture work?

By inserting hair thin needles into specific points on the body, acupuncture can very effectively reduce or eliminate pain and inflammation as well as treat internal diseases. Acupuncture is an electrical system and by adjusting the flow of energy at certain points using needles an acupuncturist is able to enhance and balance the electrical flow within our bodies. Often, points are not chosen based on symptoms, but rather based on the diagnosis or a pattern that is discovered after doing a diagnostic assessment. This is what makes acupuncture so effective; the aim of acupuncture is not only to eliminate or alleviate symptoms , but to treat the underlying cause and improve the patient’s quality of life rather than chase symptoms. Two patients with the same illness or symptom usually have completely different imbalances and could have very different treatments. Modern research shows that acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, serotonin and other neuro-chemicals that promote circulation and hormone balance as well as reduce pain and inflammation. A great advantage of acupuncture  treatment is the absence of undesireable side effects.

According to classical theory, acupuncture works by removing the obstructions in the energy channels which are electrical circuits or meridians, in the body. Like rivers of energy, these meridians flow along regular pathways to irrigate and nourish the body organs and tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these rivers is lake a dam that backs up the natural flow of the electrical circuit, causing and imbalance that manifests as sickness and pain. Bemer Therapy and Biofield Tuning work to balance the subtle fields surrounding the body that impact the flow and harmony within. In conjunction with acupuncture they provide enduring profound shifts in health and vitality.

Bemer Therapy with Acupuncture

At times I may use a Bemer mat with my acupuncture sessions. Bemer sessions can also be booked independently. Bemer therapy has been used in Europe to restore and maintain microcirculation for over 20 years. And as Qi follows the blood, enhancing circulation has a powerful affect as an adjust to the acupuncture alone. Since impaired microcirculation is at the root of many health complaints, its restoration helps the body correct underlying causes of discomfort and disease. Once microcirculation is optimized, nutrients and oxygen more easily reach the cells and waste products and toxins are more effectively eliminated. Thus, Bemer therapy enhances energy, stress reduction, mental acuity, strength, restful sleep and injury recovery.
